Two New Resources

Notes from New York

Notes from New York is a thoughtful and useful guide on how to increase Passive House design and construction by Ken Levenson, co-founder of 475 High Performance Products and President of New York Passive House.  It’s a breezy 26 minute presentation, but full of great insights.

Ken points out how in just seven years, New York has gone from 10,000 square feet in a few completed residential Passive House buildings to 3,000,000 square feet of Passive House buildings completed or in development.

Ken explains how New York Passive House has built a fast-growing community of supporters with activities ranging from marching in climate change events to building strong, cooperative relationships with related associations.

And lest we be daunted by the tremendous challenge, Ken reminds us that we live in a time of disruption.  However, it is hardly the first great technological disruption our society has faced.

I won’t spoil your enjoyment of Ken’s illustration of one of society’s quick and complete technological transformations.  Take a look.  You won’t be disappointed.  You’ll be inspired and confident we can do this together.
